Match Resolution


Best-of-1 (Qualifiers)

If there is no declared winner when time is called, and if time is called during the turn of the player who went first, the player who went second gets one more turn.
If time is called during the turn of the player who went second, no extra turn is added and the match continues until the end of the current turn.

* There is no Pokémon Checkup after the final turn of the game.

If there is no declared winner by the end of the allocated time (including the final turn of the player who went second), the match is recorded as a loss for both players.

Best-of-1 (Top Cut)

If there is no declared winner when time is called, and if time is called during the turn of the player who went first, the player who went second gets one more turn.
If time is called during the turn of the player who went second, no extra turn is added and the match continues until the end of the current turn.

* There is no Pokémon Checkup after the final turn of the game.

If there is no declared winner by the end of the allocated time (including the final turn of the player who went second), the match is resolved as follow:

Case ①

If either player has 2 or fewer Prize cards remaining:
The player with the fewest Prize cards remaining wins the match.
If both players have the same number of Prize cards remaining:
The game goes into Extra Time, and whichever player first satisfies a win condition or ends up with fewer Prize cards remaining wins the match.

Case ②

If both players have 3 or more Prize cards remaining:
The game goes into Extra Time, and whichever player first satisfies a win condition or ends up with 2 or fewer Prize cards remaining wins the match.

If the match ends in a Draw:
The winner will be decided through a single-prize Sudden Death game.

Best-of-3

If there is no declared winner when time is called, and if time is called during the turn of the player who went first, the player who went second gets one more turn.

① If time was called during game 1

If either player has fewer Prize cards remaining than their opponent:
The player with the fewest Prize cards remaining wins the match.

If both players have the same number of Prize cards remaining:
The game goes into Extra Time, and whichever player first satisfies a win condition or ends up with fewer Prize cards remaining wins the match.

If game 1 ends in a Draw:
The winner of the match will be decided through a single-prize Sudden Death game.

② If time was called before the end of game 2

If game 2 hasn’t started yet, or if both players have 3 or more Prize cards remaining:
The winner of game 1 wins the match.

If either player has 2 or fewer Prize cards remaining:
The player with the fewest Prize cards remaining wins the game.

If both players have two or fewer Prize cards remaining, and both have the same number of Prize cards remaining:
The game goes into Extra Time, and whichever player first satisfies a win condition or ends up with fewer Prize cards remaining wins the game.

If game 2 ends in a Draw:
The winner of the game will be decided through a single-prize Sudden Death game.

Determining the winner of the match
If the winner of game 1 also won game 2, that player wins the match.
If game 1 and game 2 were won by different players, the winner of the match will be decided through a single-prize Sudden Death game.

③ If time was called before the end of game 3

If either player has fewer Prize cards remaining than their opponent:
The player with the fewest Prize cards remaining wins the match.

If game 3 hasn’t started yet:
Start game 3, and whichever player first satisfies a win condition or ends up with fewer Prize cards remaining wins the match.

If both players have the same number of Prize cards remaining:
The game goes into Extra Time, and whichever player first satisfies a win condition or ends up with fewer Prize cards remaining wins the match.

If game 3 ends in a Draw:
The winner of the match will be decided through a single-prize Sudden Death game.

④ If none of the cases above apply

The winner of the match will be decided through a single-prize Sudden Death game.

Furthermore, if by the end of the allotted time a certain amount of time has passed without a winner being decided, and if there is a risk the rest of the event might be disrupted by the delay, the match might be resolved through alternate means determined by a judge.
