  • What are "Special Energy" cards?
    They are Energy cards with special effects that activate when attached to a Pokémon.

    They are the cards you place on the left side of your field. Place 3 Prize Cards when playing with 30-cards half decks, and 6 Prize Cards when playing with standard 60-cards decks.     A Standard deck is a 60-cards deck. It can contain up to 4 cards with the same name. When playing with Standard decks, games are played with 6 prize cards per player.

    They are Pokémon cards that can be put in play immediately. They can be put in the Active Spot when setting up the game, placed in open slots on the Bench, etc.
  • What is "Damage"?
    It is a Pokémon's attack power. When a Pokémon takes damage, its HP is reduced by the same amount.
  • What are Damage Counters?
    They are used to indicate the amount of damage a Pokémon has taken from attacks and such. There are several types of damage counters, indicating either 10 or 50 damage. When a card's effect mentions damage counters, it always means the "10 damage" type of damage counters.
  • What does the "hand" mean?
    Your hand is the cards you can use during your turn. Hold them in such a way that your opponent cannot see what these cards are, only their back.

    Quite simply, your deck! More specifically, that means the stack of cards you placed on your side of the field, and from which you draw the top card at the start of each of your turns.

    "Special Conditions" refers to the "Poisoned", "Burned", "Asleep", "Paralyzed" and "Confused" conditions.

  • What does “Burned” mean?
    If a Pokémon is Burned, during Pokémon Checkup between turns, put 2 damage counters on that Pokémon. Then, that Pokémon’s owner flips a coin: if heads, the Pokémon is healed from its Burn. If tails, it stays Burned.A Burned Pokémon can still attack or retreat normally. Burn stacks with other Special Conditions.
