The Pokémon TCG Academia series aims to introduce university and college students to the world of Pokémon TCG gameplay,building a vibrant community, and empowering participants to become skilled players ready to take on competitive Pokémon TCG events like Town league, Regional leagues, and Championships. Let’s join and be a Malaysian Champion!

Following the success of University Invasion and Bootcamp, this competition is a chance for Pokémon enthusiasts to showcase their battling skills and proudly represent their schools.

Intercollege Tournament

Teams representing various universities and colleges participate in battles against each other.

Time Pre-registered check-in: 10:00-10:30
Walk-in registration: 10:30-11:00
※If seats are fully occupied during pre-registration, walk-in registrations will not be accepted.
Conditions for Participation At least one team member from the team must provide valid identification as a Malaysian university or college student.

End: 19th Feb 2024 (Mon)
Result: 21th of Feb 2024 (Wed)

If pre-registration exceeds capacity, participants will be chosen through a lottery.
  • Pre-registered players must check in by 10:30 a.m. Those who fail to do so will be dropped from the event.
  • After 10:30, walk-in registrations are accepted first-come, first-served if space is available.
  • Dropped pre-registered players missing the 10:30 check-in can register on-site as walk-ins if seats are open.
  • On-site walk-ins need Trainer’s Website account registration and present their trainer’s ID.
Event Structure

This battle involves teams representing various universities and colleges battling against each other.

  • Form a team of 3-5 people (minimum 3 members).
  • Include at least one current university or college student with a valid ID in the team. Other team members can be non-students.
  • Submit team entries on school basis, stating the school name on the application form.
  • One person can join only one team.
  • One school can build multiple teams and submit entries.
  • If two students from different schools are in one team, they must choose one school to represent.
  • If your team exceeds 4 players, choose 3 participants for each round. (The format is simultaneous BO3 by 6 players.)
  • Each player in a team must play at least once.
    ※Participants can represent only schools officially verified byThe Ministry of Higher Education. (Verify if your school is included in the list.)

  • Tournament-legal deck with 60 cards
  • Identification
  • Coin
  • Damage Counters
  • Markers (Poison Marker, Burn Marker, VSTAR Marker)

※No rental equipment is available at the venue.
Cards Available for Use Pokémon Trading Card Game English version only (other language cards are prohibited)
Participants can use up to Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Paldean Fates. (SV4.5)

Format ・Qualifier:

Swiss Draw, 5 Rounds, BO3 (6 players simultaneously), 25 minutes per round.
Top 4 teams proceed to the Top Cut.

・Top Cut:

Single Elimination, BO3 (6 players simultaneously), 55 minutes per round.

Prize

Each participant will receive one Present Pack and a Lanyard with Card holder featuring the Intercollege Cup logo.

・Champion Team:

-Each team member receives 1 Golden medal and a 30cm x 30cm cotton towel featuring the Intercollege Cup logo.

・Finalist Team:

-Each team member receives 1 Silver medal and a 30cm x 30cm cotton towel featuring the Intercollege Cup logo.

・3rd and 4th place Team:

-Each team member receives 1 Bronze medal and a 30cm x 30cm cotton towel featuring the Intercollege Cup logo.

Requirement
  • Participants of the Intercollege tournament.
  • Exclude participants advancing to the Top Cut of the Intercollege Cup tournament due to schedule conflicts.
  • Walk-in registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Players can join multiple times but receive only one prize

Prize Each participant will receive a 20cm x 20cm cotton towel featuring the Intercollege Cup logo.

Participation Walk-in registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
Single entry per person.
Participants must be aged 6 or above in the year of 2024.
Prize Each participant will receive:

※Registration closes upon reaching full seating capacity.
※Only the participants who commit to the session are eligible for the prize.
※The prize distribution will cease once all the prizes are distributed.
