  • If a player is not seated at their table when the round starts, that player loses the match.
  • * If by the end of that match the player who was late doesn’t explicitly express their wish to continue playing in the tournament, they will be automatically dropped.
    * Participants who fail to show up on the day of the tournament without a valid reason may not be allowed to participate in future events.
Shuffling As part of COVID-19 protocols, in order to reduce contact between players, please refrain from touching your opponent’s cards and deck. See below for more details. Also do note that judges may have to touch players’ cards to check their decks and sleeves.

During matches, cards must be shuffled by their owner. Once cards have been sufficiently shuffled, the opposing player may, within reason, ask for an additional shuffle such as written below.

    Examples of additional shuffle methods:

① “Please shuffle until I say ‘stop’.”

② “Please cut your deck in three piles, then put them back in the order I’ll specify.”

③ “Please put a number of cards I’ll specify from the top of your deck to the bottom.” (Specify a number between 1 and 10)

Players who want to check their opponent’s discarded cards should politely ask their opponent to show them their discard pile. The opposing player should then show the contents of their discard pile in a clear manner.
During and between matches Participants are required to check all of the following rules:
  • Advanced Player’s Rulebook
  • Floor Rules
  • Penalty Chart
